Diagnosis

The wings are white, the forewings with marginal and costal dark grey-brown areas as illustrated.

These include raised satiny white scales along the postmedial fascia, and at and beyond the distal extremity of the costal area.

Taxonomic Notes

The male genitalia have an extensive and rather distally laced harpe with a rugose dorsal edge.

The female genitalia have short apophyses, a very long and narrow ductus, and a pyriform corpus bursae that contains two longitudinal bands of scobination.

Geographical range

Borneo, Sumatra (van Eecke, 1926), Nias, Philippines, Java, Bali, Sumbawa, Sri Lanka; recorded from Nepal and Vietnam by the Budapest group.

Habitat preference

This is a rare lowland species, only two specimens being taken in recent surveys: from the coast of Brunei at Kampong Kapok and from alluvial forest at the foot of G. Mulu.
