Diagnosis
The mottled, bronzy brown forewings and the yellow hindwings with a dark brown border render this species unmistakable.
Taxonomic note
A. talboti has a more gently curved harpe, distinctive spined lobes on the ‘shoulders’ of the tegumen, and a short, rhomboidal uncus.
Geographical range
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
The species is primarily montane and has been taken frequently at altitudes from 1000m to 2100m (lower to upper montane forest) on G. Kinabalu, G. Mulu and Bukit Retak.
However, three specimens have been taken at 300m in hill dipterocarp forest in the Ulu Temburong, Brunei.
