A species with similar facies but distinct male genitalia (slide 2060) flies in Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra (ZSM).

Habitat preference

The species is infrequent, recorded both in the lowlands of Brunei and at around 1600m on the slopes of G. Kinabalu.
