Diagnosis
The forewing fasciae and discal spot are diffusely darker; the lenticular marking on the dorsum is variably present in Sumatra (Kobes, 1997) and appears to be a Sundanian peculiarity; the related Sulawesi endemic species albimacula Roepke has this feature more strongly developed, containing a white triangle.
Geographical range
Indian Subregion, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Philippines, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference
Three specimens have been taken in pristine and selectively logged lowland forest near the Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah.
