Acygnatha atrapex Hampson
Raparna atrapex Hampson, 1895, Fauna Br. India (Moths) 3: 25.
Diagnosis
The fawn and pinkish brown wing colour and marking is somewhat similar to that of Cerynea omphisalis (p. 88), but the hindwing lacks a white postmedial and the forewing has a complete black arc running from the apex to the postmedial and thence back to the distal margin approximately centrally; the arc is thickest over its central part and forms a semicircle. The underside of all wings has extensive black marginally; this is not seen in omphisalis. The thorax and bases of the abdominal rings are also black.
Geographical range
N.E. Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia (Barlow colln), Singapore, Borneo.
Habitat preference
Both Bornean specimens are from the lowlands, but from very different forest types: heath and secondary.
