Strophidia Hübner
Genus Details
Type species: caudata Fabricius.
The facies of Strophidia is as in the previous genus, but the male and female abdomen have distinct features. Sternites 4 to 7 have paired, triangular apodemes, and the anterior lateral angles of the tergites are also somewhat produced. The uncus prongs are angled outwards. The valves are narrow, with a weak, angular process on the costa. The juxta has strong distal lobes but no lateral ones.
The female has a long, slender ductus and a somewhat ovate bursa with a central ovate zone of sparse, coarse scobination, the individual spines directed outwards.
The genus consists of only two species as discussed below.
